The Demon Within

Evening began to set in Nerima and a young man stood upon a roof. He started to grasp his chest in pain as he watched the setting sun.
‘The burning,’
‘I can feel it.’
“I have to hurry and get home before it was to late,” spoke the young man.
He jumped from a rooftop and ran as the sun dropped in the east. Looking for his way home. He spotted a small old man running with a sack over his head.
“Happosai.”
Running fast he caught Happosai and continued to run into the sun.
“Let me go, or you will regret it.” The person put him down and turned to face him.
“Where have you been, Happosai?”
“Just looking for you my boy,” replied a shaky Happosai.
“Yeah, right come on we have to hurry, I can feel it right now.” They continued to run.
They rushed through the tops of houses and stopped at one, pulling a key from my pocket I opened the door. While Happosai is behind me I go down some stairs to a door and open it and turn on the light inside. Walking down the short hallway they came to a metal door.
“Let’s go.” Happosai followed him down into a chamber with a bed in the center there where large metal restraints on the bed.
“Are the restraints strong enough this time,” asked Happosai?
“They are made from titanium, they should hold I think,” replied the young man. He handed Happosai some instructions on what to do if something goes wrong and he helps him put on the restraints.
“Make sure I won’t get loose ok.” He told Happosai as he secured his wrists and ankles to the four-post bed.
“And make sure Cologne gets here fast.” He nodes his head and goes back outside.
‘I hope he hurry’s.’
‘I hope the restraints hold.’
‘Already I can feel my blood begin to burn inside me.’

Happosai ran to the phone and called the Nekohanten. “Pick up, pick up.”
“Nekohanten,” replied Cologne on the other line.
“Cologne it’s time.”
“I’ll be there in a few minutes, has Ryoga begun to change.” Cologne sighed.
“Not yet, but hurry none the less,” finished Happosai.
Cologne quickly gathered her things and ran out the door past Shampoo and Mousse without saying a word.
“Where’s great-grandmother going,” Shampoo told Mousse.
“I don’t know Kasumi why do you want to know.” Shampoo hit Mousse on the head and said to watch the costumers while she followed her great-grandmother. Shampoo ran passed Ucchan’s as she tried to follow Cologne. Ukyo was outside sweeping and getting ready to close the shop when she saw Shampoo running.
‘Where’s she going in hurry?’ thought Ukyo. Curious she decided to follow her.

Cologne jumped down from the roof of the house and into a yard. Rushing into the yard she ran to the door and hurried inside. The last ray of the sun started to fade over the horizon.
Ukyo and Shampoo both landed on the same roof and looked at where Cologne went. “Where great-grandmother go there for?” replied Shampoo.
“I don’t know sugar,” answered Ukyo.
“Lets go see,” replied Shampoo as ran to the door.

Cologne ran down the stairs and in the large room. She saw that Ryoga was bond already.
“Took you long enough,” replied Happosai.
“I finished the base drawings, all we need are the rest of the ingredients and the protection wards,” finished Happosai
“Ok lets hurry the sun is going down fast.” Cologne and Happosai began sprinkling various ingredients on the blood red pentagram. Cologne took a writing brush and dipped it cinnabar ink and began writing on the walls around the room. Happosai sat outside the circle and began chanting. Cologne followed soon after. They both spoke in a language none could understand and the circle glowed a blood red color that filled the room with its light.

The sun dipped over the horizon as darkness clawed through the land. Tonight was the rising of the New Moon. Downstairs Ryoga twisted and growled as he pulled on the chains. The chanting grew louder and Shampoo and Ukyo entered the house.
“Is it me or do you feel funny,” replied Ukyo.
“Aiah, it do feel funny in here,” spoke Shampoo.
As they entered deeper into the house they heard some strange sounds near by.
“What do you think all that noise is, sugar?” Spoke Ukyo.
“Shampoo don’t know,” whispered Shampoo as they walked towards the sounds.
Climbing down a set of stairs they came to a large metal door. The chanting was louder as they stood in front of the door.

Ryoga pulled hard on the chains as he tried to remain in control so that his instincts would not take over. He struggled as Happosai and Cologne chanted unaware of the visitors just outside. When Ukyo and Shampoo reached the door Ryoga stopped struggling and began to sniff the air around him. A scent caught his attention and he smiled a feral smile.

“Do you think we should open door,” whispered Shampoo as she neared the door handle.
“We’ve come this far sugar be a shame if we didn’t go all the way.”
They both grunted as the pulled the handle and the door groaned open.
When they finally opened the door and started to look inside what they saw gave them the shock of their lives.

Ryoga turned his head and stared at the two frozen girls. He licked his lips and with a surge of strength he pulled on the chains and they snapped like they where made of plastic. Rising from the bed he shook off the chain and flexed and stretched his body his sight never leaving the two girls. He then jumped off the bed and started to walk towards them when the protection circle stopped him. Growling he slammed his fist into the field and the energy wavered for a moment smiling he yelled as his aura shot out pushed against the shield expanding it. Cologne and Happosai where wavering as sweat poured from their bodies as they concentrated on maintaining the shield. Ryoga yelled again and his body changed, two black wings emerged from his back and the sides of his head. He grew an inch in height and his muscles bulged out a little bring his fist back he put all of his weight into it and slammed it into the shield. The shield shattered like glass and Cologne and Happosai where flung back into the walls by the backlash. They where both knocked unconscious and Ryoga then move from the circle towards the Ukyo and Shampoo only to be stopped by the glowing script written on the walls. Raising his hand he formed a glowing sphere of Chi and destroyed the script painted on the walls. Free from spells of protection Ryoga walked over to the girls smiling all the way.
“You two look good enough to eat.” With that the steel door slammed shut.
Next: What will happen to Ukyo and Shampoo as they are trapped with nowhere to run.
