Leto said nothing, still holding Ukyō’s hand, watching in amazement at the growth. He went to touch it, felt the hotness there, then he felt a surprise.

“Oh Gods! It kicked!” he said in surprise.

Ukyō reached down and felt her stomach. “So... when will labor begin?”

Bee scanned Ukyō again, then replied, “It should start right about now—”

Then he heard shots being fired!

Leto acted quickly. “COMPUTER! Activate force fields for the infirmary! Authorization Code: Pelops Beta Ten!”

“That should hold almost anything out so that we can finish EERK O.o...”

Leto was having his hand crushed by Ukyō as the first pangs of labor hit her like a freight train.

Ukyō nearly doubled over in pain as she felt the labor begin, squeezing Leto’s hand as hard as she could to try and deal with it. She let out a cry. She had never expected anything like this. “Get this over quick or I’m gonna rip your head off, Robot!”

Bee did what he could; he got Ukyō’s legs into stirrups, spread them apart, then adjusted the gurney so that Ukyō could be in a better position to push. Bee did NOT pry her hand from Leto’s.

“OK, Miss Ukyō, I need you to push down, then take a breather, then over again. Do you understand?” said the droid.

Leto was barely able to reach a communicator. He turned it on after hearing Nuku-Nuku’s screech and said, “Check in my personal bathroom, you should find some stuff there; the infirmary is in lockdown mode at the moment....”

He switched it off, then moaned in pain again as Ukyō crushed his hand even further.

Ukyō glared at the robot but did as it instructed, pushing, then breathing. “You’d better... be right!”

As Ukyō pushed some more, the time passed. both Leto and Bee were nervous, but then...

“Ahhh... there’s the head! Just a little more, Miss Ukyō! You can do it!” said the droid in a pleasant yet nervous voice.

Ukyō was glaring daggers at Bee. “You’d better hope I can!” she managed to get the threat out before she gave another few pushes.

Bee tried his best, encouraging Ukyō to push ‘just a little more.’

The ONLY reason that Ukyō’s screams didn’t resonate around the neighborhood was because of the force field. However, those inside, Bee and Leto, still had ears to suffer with.

With one last push, the baby came out, crying as a newborn should.

“It’s a girl! Congratulations to you both.” said the droid. Bee then cut the umbilical cord, cleaned the baby girl, weighed her in, wrapped the baby in a wrap, then gently handed her to Ukyō.

He then went to the medicine cabinet of the infirmary, came back, and gave Ukyō an injection into her thigh.

“Bacta treatment... to help your inner organs to regenerate back to their normal state.” Bee said calmly.

Leto looked over, seeing his and Ukyō’s daughter. The child instinctively went for her bosom, and latched on, suckling softly.

“She’s beautiful, Ukyō-chan. What do you want to name her?” Leto asked softly.

Ukyō was glad it was finally over and smiled as she held her daughter, letting it feed for the first time. “Name... how about... Megumi? What do you think?”

Leto replied with a smile. “Sounds like a winner to me.” He then sealed the deal with a soft wet kiss. He then kissed the baby atop the head, saying, “Welcome to planet Earth, Megumi Pelops.”

Ukyō sighed happily and held Megumi softly as she laid back, ready to relax from the birthing. She gazed down at the baby sucking away at her nipple and she grinned before looking at Leto. “Want to give me something to suck on and drink from, too?”
